AMS Aledo Basketball Results: Aledo vs. Mineral Wells

7th Grade

A Team: Win- 35-24

The Ladycats had a tough game, but they were able to come together and finish with a win. Taylor Morgan and Janessa Payne had 10 points. Alex Grooms, McKenzie Cox, and Cheney Huddleston played a great game defensively.

B Team: Win- 78-9

The Ladycats had a great first season game. Madison Head led scoring with 35 points, followed by Hannah Glover with 18. Gracie Morris and Emma Mach had a great game defensively. The girls worked great as a team last night.

C Team: Win- 38-0

The Ladycats started the season with a great game by all. Mackenzie Hodges and Haley Thomas led scoring with 10 points each. Reese Jackson had a great game defensively. We look forward to a great season.

8th Grade

A Team: Loss- 24-25

The Ladycats lost their first pre-season game. This team has a lot of potential and we are going to continue to work hard.

B Team: Win- 32-11

The Ladycats played a great first game. These girls played a great defensive game.

C Team: Win- 29-9

Aledo played great for our first game. Danielle Coumbs had 14 points.

8th Grade A Team Tison Tournament: 3rd Place

Aledo vs. Burleson Kerr- 25-28

Aledo vs. Millsap- 38-25

The 8th grade A team ended up in 3rd place. Anastasia Morrison had 17 points and Anna Rogers had 10 points. We had a 25-38 loss to Burleson Kerr. It was a tough first game. The next game was against Millsap. We won 38-25.

7th Grade A Team Tison Tournament: 1st Place

Aledo vs. Burleson Kerr- 42-11

The Ladycats came out ready to play. Taylor Morgan had 23 points against H.F. Stevens and Kayla Metts had 10 points. In the championship game, all the girls played great. Taylor Morgan had 17 points and Riley Sale had 8 points. Cheney Huddleston, Daliegh Ellison, and Alex Grooms played a great game defensively.

Aledo won 3-0: 25-15, 25-23, 25-21

Madison Goings had 12 kills, Madison Lopez had 11 kills, Tyler Lucas had 25 digs, Erin Weiss had 37 assists.

Regional Finals: Aledo vs Granbury

Aledo won 3-2: 26-28, 25-20, 19-25, 25-15, 15-10

Madison Goings had 13 kills, Camryn McLelland had 11 kills, Emily Clayton had 10 kills, Madison Goings had 6 blocks, Emily Clayton had 2 blocks, Tyler Lucas had 34 digs, Erin Weiss had 41 assists.

Best finish at “The Classic” by any Aledo Golf Team since the tournament started in 2008.

The Varsity Girls Golf Team finished their 3 Fall Tournaments with two 1st place finishes and one 2nd.

Currently the Aledo Ladycats Golf Team are ranked 2nd in the State by Texas High School Golf Scoreboard and Cheyenne Knight is ranked 1st Individually.

Varsity Team Tennis Receives All-District Honors
Coach Karl Richter Named Coach of the Year

Twelve Aledo Varsity Team Tennis players have received All-District 8-5A honors following the 2014 fall season. Coach Karl Richter was also named Coach of the Year. John Michael Barron was District 8-5A MVP Boy, and Nikki Adamie was named District 8-5A MVP Girl. Freshman Boy of the Year was Alec Meendsen.
AHS Represents at State Cross Country Meet
Congratulations to Michael Meadows for his competitive race on Saturday at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock.
Michael qualified for the State Cross Country Meet last week in Lubbock by setting a new school record at Regionals with an impressive time of 15:52. He ran a 17:15 Saturday to finish in the middle of the pack of more than 140 runners from across the state.

Coach Reid would like commend the team for a great season and is grateful for the support of all the parents, teachers, and staff.

AISD Faculty Softball Game Rescheduled!
AHS Faculty to Play Softball Rescheduled for March!

AHS is looking for faculty members who would like to be a member of the High School Softball Team. They will compete in the First Annual Aledo Strike Out Softball Tournament in March at the AHS softball field. Teachers will compete against teams from other districts. The event is FREE, but all donations will benefit the Class of 2016. For more information about the team, see Deneise Stockon or Jeff Lemons at AHS. Mr. Peterson has sign-up sheets. If you just want the t-shirt, forms are available in the front office.

Aledo Ladycats Volleyball
The Aledo Ladycats JV defeated Centennial, 25-21, 25-7 on Tuesday to claim the outright District 8-5A JV Volleyball Championship with a 14-0 record.

The Ladycats Freshman A Team defeated Centennial, 25-15, 25-22 to claim a District Co-Championship.

Aledo Cross Country
Congratulations to the Aledo Varsity Boys Cross Country team for winning their third District Championship in a row!!
All five varsity boys medaled in winning the District 8-5A Championship with a team record of 24 points. Senior Captain Colby Caldwell ran a spectacular race with a time of 16:25 just two seconds behind the first place leader. Senior Co-Captains Michael Meadows and Oaklin Davis medaled in 3rd and 6th place. Sophomore runner Harrison Tillman finished in 5th place with a time of 16:44, and junior Kyle Gribble medaled in 8th place with a personal best time of 16:55.

The varsity girls finished in 4th place overall and were led by medalists Rachel Power for a 4th place and freshman Gracie Johnson for 10th place. Both of these girls will run at Regionals next Friday in Lubbock, along with our varsity boys.

Coach Stan Reid said, "We want to thank our parents, teachers, administrators and staff for their support for a spectacular season."

Off to Regionals!!
Aledo Varsity Tennis won their Area Playoffs in commanding fashion with a 10-0 win over Burleson Centennial in the Semifinal Match, and a 10-4 win in the finals over Granbury. The RacquetCats will be back in action at the Regional Playoffs in Wichita Falls on Friday, October 31.

Ladycat Golf Team
The Ladycat Golf Team of Taylor Brookshire, Mary Katherine Ingram, Quincy Ballard, Elizabeth Boil and Amber McCrainie took the Championship at the Squaw Valley Tournament in Glen Rose. This was the Team's Second Win out of Two Fall Tournaments. Congratulations!!

The Bearcats Placed Third at the Squaw Valley Tournament with Scores of 298-291. This was the lowest Second Round for the Team.
